The Shan Yu Shameless Lust Page

Last updated July 6, 2008

The Man
"You can't feel lust for an animated character," I hear you say.  Oh yeah?? I think there are plenty to agree with me that you can (in fact, if you've found your way here, you just might be one of them).  Shall we ask Li Shang fans about when he takes off his shirt?  Or talk to a few guys about Jessica Rabbit's - um - animated assets?  I even read a movie critic confess lust for Ariel - it was the hair that got him.  (Yes, you read that right - a cynical, Disney-bashing movie critic!)  Does a lust for animated villains seem odd to you?  Ask Frollo's fans about it, or lets talk about the games you can play with a hook, as in Captain Hook.

Anyone who can't imagine getting... well, excited about a two-dimensional character needs to have his or her imagination taken out for more exercise!

Shan Yu
And just look at that man!  Not a Cover Girl smile, true.  But a knee-melting, heart-racing, blood-stirring, bass-voiced testosterone trip of epic proportions, nevertheless.  That strong stride, that feral grace, that wolfish smile, that beautifully deep voice...

I need a cold shower.

Best of all, he's displayed in a film that did him justice, Mulan, Disney's best animated film ever.

If you're another appreciator of Shan, or if you think I'm totally crazy, or if you just want to comment on this site, then email me and tell me what you think.  By all means, if you want to share in this guilty pleasure, tell me what animated character races your engine.  You might even want to vote for that character on my Animated Lust (Rated PG!) page.  Thanks for visiting!

Some facts about Disney's Shan Yu - a little about the men who gave life to this fantastic character.

Shan Yu Galleries - a gallery of images I've collected (and I'll admit, I've been greedy about it!), another little gallery of some creative renderings of the character, and a gallery with a sequence from the film.

The True History of Shan Yu - what the movie didn't tell you, and why I say Shan Yu is not really a villain.

Links to Shan Yu and Mulan sites around the Web - there are a lot of these sites, and I think they are all great.  I've included links to other Disney sites as well.  Also, there are links to the fascinating world of real-life Huns - did you know that the Huns once ruled China?  For real!  And that they had the largest continguous empire the world has ever known, larger than the Romans or Alexander's?  These links will tell you more about an almost-forgotten people.

My other sites:

Animated Lust (Rated PG!) - a tribute to all those animated characters we love and/or lust after.  You can vote for your favorites and even contribute to the character pages!

Dragonfare ~ my own domain, if you want to know more about me.

I seem to update this site about once a year...

I have new gift art, from Taytel - see her work in the gift art gallery!

Also, I have eliminated my guest book (problem with the host), and changed the navigation a little.

I also updated the pages, especially the links, including adding some new ones.

This site doesn't get updated often... But something exciting has happened! Pres Romanillos emailed me with an update on what he's doing. He has his own website now, and a journal for his dog. No kidding! Check out Pres' page for the details!

I also updated my links page (finally) and corrected my email address. *embarrassed*

An addition to the fan art gallery by Pres Romanillos. I kid you not. And a little tribute page to our favorite animator! Also, a quote from Mr. Romanillos about Shan Yu's voice, and there's a new gallery of scans and screen caps done by myself.
